The Jetour T2 is coming to Malaysia, and it's about to make a splash! Get ready for a rugged SUV with a twist.
This November 8 and 9, the T2 will be showcased at the paultan.org Auto Car Expo (ACE) in a right-hand drive configuration, a first for this eye-catching vehicle. But here's where it gets interesting: the carmaker, owned by Chery Holding, is opening bookings early and will reveal the estimated pricing at the event.
The T2, a mid-sized SUV, has a unique boxy design reminiscent of the iconic Ford Bronco. With its square headlights, large grille, and upright glasshouse, it's a head-turner. But don't be fooled by its rugged looks—underneath, it's a unibody structure with front- or all-wheel drive options.
And this is the part most people miss—under the hood, it packs a punch. The engine options are impressive, including a 1.5-liter turbo four-cylinder from the Chery O5, a 2.0-liter unit from the Tiggo 8 Pro, and even a plug-in hybrid variant. The most anticipated combo is the 2.0-liter engine with a seven-speed DCT, delivering 254 PS and 390 Nm of torque.
Inside, the T2 embraces its Chinese roots with a 4x4-inspired interior, featuring a bold dashboard, silvery trim, and an oblong steering wheel. It also boasts large screens, including a 10.25-inch instrument display and a 15.6-inch touchscreen.
The T2 will be locally assembled in CKD form at the Berjaya Assembly plant in Johor. If you're eager to see it in person, mark your calendars for ACE 2025 at the Setia City Convention Centre. And the best part? Entrance is free!
Controversial Opinion: Some might argue that the T2's boxy design is a bit too reminiscent of the Ford Bronco, but is imitation truly a deal-breaker? What do you think? Is the T2 a refreshing take on a classic design or a case of unoriginality? Share your thoughts in the comments!
