Stranger Things: Tales From '85 Unveils Voice Cast and Teaser Photos
Netflix has unveiled the voice cast and released a first look teaser for Stranger Things: Tales from '85, the animated series based on the hit show Stranger Things. Fans of the sci-fi series are celebrating Stranger Things Day, the day Will Byers went missing in Hawkins, Indiana (November 6, 1983). To commemorate the day, the streamer revealed who will voice the characters in their animated form for the series, which is set to debut in 2026.
The cast of Stranger Things: Tales from '85 includes Brooklyn Davey Norstedt as Eleven, Jolie Hoang-Rappaport as Max, Luca Diaz as Mike, Ej (Elisha) Williams as Lucas, Braxton Quinney as Dustin, Ben Plessala as Will, and Brett Gipson as Hopper. Additional voice cast includes Odessa A'zion, Janeane Garofalo, and Lou Diamond Phillips.
Stranger Things creators Matt and Ross Duffer say in a featurette that when they thought about expanding the universe, creating an animated series 'was one of our first ideas.'
'The idea was kind of to evoke a feeling of an '80s cartoon,' Matt said, teasing the series. Ross noted that transforming the series into animation gave them 'no limits,' allowing storytellers to 'go wild.'
Taking place between Seasons 2 and 3 of Stranger Things, Tales from '85 welcomes viewers back to Hawkins in the stark winter of 1985, where the original characters must fight new monsters and unravel a paranormal mystery that is terrorizing their town.
Eric Robles serves as showrunner and executive producer. Executive producers include Matt and Ross Duffer, along with Hilary Leavitt, via Upside Down Pictures; Shawn Levy via 21 Laps; and Dan Cohen.
