VR46 MotoGP 2026 Livery Launch: 'Black and Light' Unveiled! (2026)

Get Ready for an Exciting Reveal: VR46’s 2026 MotoGP Team Launch Is Here!

Today marks a thrilling moment for motorcycle racing enthusiasts as Valentino Rossi's VR46 Racing Team is set to unveil its vibrant new livery for the 2026 MotoGP season. This highly anticipated event will take place in Rome, the very city that proudly hosts riders Fabio di Giannantonio and Franco Morbidelli. Fans can tune in live at midday CET (11 AM UK time) to witness this special occasion.

The launch event is being hosted at the elegant Villa Miani and promises to showcase what has been described as the "new Black and Light" design. This suggests a shift from the bright fluorescent yellow and white shades that have characterized the team’s appearance in previous seasons, hinting at a fresh and bold visual identity for the year ahead.

VR46 is stepping into its second season with an upgraded status, having been chosen to replace Pramac as Ducati’s official factory-backed satellite team. This means that di Giannantonio will be racing on a factory-spec Desmosedici, which is a significant enhancement compared to last year. However, despite this upgrade, the team faced challenges in the previous championship, finishing behind both the official Ducati Lenovo team and Gresini.

In the 2023 season, di Giannantonio managed to secure a higher position than his teammate Morbidelli, placing sixth in the riders' standings. Together, they celebrated a total of six podium finishes in Grand Prix races and seven rostrum appearances in Sprint events. Nevertheless, neither rider was able to add to Marco Bezzecchi's impressive tally of three MotoGP victories for the team during the last season.

As VR46 embarks on its third season with Pertamina, the Indonesian state-owned oil and gas company, as its title sponsor, the excitement continues to build. di Giannantonio will once again pilot the latest Desmosedici alongside notable competitors such as Marc Marquez, Francesco Bagnaia, and Alex Marquez. On the other hand, Morbidelli will continue utilizing a year-old satellite-spec Ducati, which was also recently used by the injured Fermin Aldeguer.

Interestingly, VR46 will be the second team in the MotoGP paddock to reveal its new racing colors this season, following last night's launch of Pramac Yamaha.

With Peter, a seasoned presence in the paddock for two decades, witnessing the evolution of Valentino Rossi and navigating stories like Suzuki's departure and Marquez's injury battles, there’s a wealth of experience shaping the narrative of this dynamic sport.

And here’s where it gets interesting: What do you think about the strategic changes in team dynamics this season? Will the new livery help VR46 stand out in the fierce competition, or are the upgrades enough to change their fortunes? Let's hear your thoughts!
