Walmart is making a significant adjustment to its Christmas Eve services, offering last-minute shoppers a lifeline. The retail giant is extending its deadline for Express Delivery, allowing customers to order items as late as 5 p.m. local time on Christmas Eve. This is an hour later than the previous year, providing an extra hour for those in a rush. According to David Guggina, Chief eCommerce Officer at Walmart U.S., the company's Express Delivery service is gaining popularity, especially during the holiday season. He emphasizes Walmart's unique ability to deliver for customers, from the first holiday deal to the final gift on Christmas Eve.
Walmart stores will be open from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Christmas Eve, with stores closed on Christmas Day. The retailer has also introduced the 'Get it Now' option in its app, allowing customers to see the estimated time for item delivery and place orders with a single tap. This feature further enhances the convenience of Walmart's services.
Walmart's commitment to delivery and speed is evident in its ability to reach 95% of U.S. households in under three hours. The company's holiday delivery deadlines are as follows: Standard shipping orders should be placed by 12:30 p.m. local time on December 23 for Christmas Day arrival. Same-day pickup and delivery orders must be placed by noon local time on December 24. Express Delivery, with its rapid one-hour delivery, is available until 5 p.m. local time on December 24.
This change highlights Walmart's dedication to accommodating last-minute shoppers and ensuring a seamless holiday shopping experience.
